Finance Committee Strategic Plan

Goal:   Employ innovative and effective fiscal management strategies to ensure the

            viability of the school’s future

2007-2008 Accomplishments

•      Merged the Finance Committee and the Capital Campaign Committee

•      Retained Institute of School and Parish Development for the Capital Campaign

-   Formed a Steering Committee

-   Sought input from everyone conducting listening sessions, assemblies and a feasibility study

-   Selected an Honorary Chairperson and five Operational Chair Couples

-   Started the Pacesetter (Silent) Phase of the Capital Campaign

•      Evaluated and rejected moving contingency fund to the Baton Rouge Foundation

•      Maintained teachers’ salaries at 100% of the diocesan pay scale

•      Set tuition rates for the 2008-2009 school year

•      Submitted the preliminary budget for the 2008-2009 school year to the diocese

•      Provided compensation to teachers for extra-curricular activity involvement

2008-2009 Action Items

•      Initiate the Public Phase of the Capital Campaign

•      Assist committees on projects to limit SPC’s exposure in the commercial and financial areas while supporting the required upgrades and improvements

•      Continue to evaluate and remain competitive with tuition rates in our region

•      Maintain teachers’ salaries at or above 100% of the diocese’s pay scale

•      Present annual finance update at February CHASA meeting
